Part 1: Review and Reflect Learning Strategy
I am good at time management, as I am good at creating structured schedules that allocate time for studying, breaks, and other responsibilities, helping me stay organized and reduce procrastination. I also thrive in focused study environments, where I minimize distractions by choosing quiet, comfortable spaces to maximize productivity. Additionally, I effectively use visual tools and outlining, such as charts, diagrams, and key point highlights, to simplify complex concepts and improve understanding.
I need to work on critical thinking because I often take in information without questioning it deeply. I also need to improve my note-taking skills since my notes are too detailed and hard to review; using summaries and index cards could make them clearer. Lastly, I should build a review and retention system because I don’t revisit the material regularly, which would help me remember and prepare better.
Part 2: Preview Time Management Skills
Part 3: Project Management BasicsThese three videos relate to different aspects of project management. The first video was an introduction, showing how a project was supposed to get started by defining the scope of the project and estimating time and cost. The second video relates to the WBS, emphasizing how large chunks of work are to be broken down into smaller pieces so that each part of the project is covered on time. The last video will introduce a project management tool, the Gantt chart, that assists in visualizing these tasks from the WBS on a timeline. This tool allows teams to follow the progress and reach milestones, making modifications where necessary.
Part 4: Check Out Previous Capstones
1. The type of project was the Resume Parser. Yeah, It was well done because It is a tool designed to allow the recruiter or hiring manager to upload multiple resumes and extract the essentials using its search feature. This project simplifies the task of looking through a huge amount of resumes, which is a very practical and relevant problem for recruitment. The presentation was clear and explained the functionality and benefits of the tool in detail. No, It was good the project and presentation could not be improved.
2. The type of project was the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory Security Scan Summary Project had the goal of simplifying the communication of cybersecurity risks to non-technical stakeholders. These are using SARIF files, GitHub, CodeQL, and Python to analyze code vulnerabilities and provide high-level insights on their findings. The project is well-executed in that it tries to solve a very relevant problem. The presentation was clear and informative.
3. This type of project was focused on improving the accuracy of identifying brain tumors in MRI scans using computer vision and neural networks, particularly by implementing and enhancing a U-Net model. The presentation was clear, and the visuals were well-structured to explain the strategy, tools, and results. While the project was well-executed. Overall, it was a great application of AI in healthcare with a high potential for real-world impact.
Part 5: Summarize Your Week on Your Learning Journal
This week, I have had a struggle with time management and realized the importance of making and adjusting the schedule to keep up with work. I learned how breaking projects into smaller, manageable pieces can help improve productivity, which I will be able to apply in my work. The study of project management concepts was not that interesting, but it helped in understand how to effectively organize tasks. It was inspiring to watch the capstone projects, especially those on game development, as this gave me a clearer idea of what to expect in the future. Overall, this week pointed out areas of growth and gave some practical tools for improvement.

ReplyDeleteHi Keshab, I love your schedule! I appreciate breaking up the gym with soccer, that's great! Do you have a team you regularly play with or is like whoever is around the field/some type of weekly event? That's awesome. I also love your addition of "movie time" as I have found with remote work and online school, movies are really nice to escape my brain for a while. Your study/work time is very nicely organized and I love that you also have family time mentioned as well. I can see a few elements in your schedule that I need to incorporate as well, particularly friend/family and movie time. I am grateful we are on Team 8 together as I can tell you are an organized and sensible person and I look forward to working with you more!
I like that your schedule is straight forward and well-defined. I like the consistency for the core of your day - the block between 2pm and 7pm is the center of everything. Cutting out time for soccer is also a big deal - especially because it is a team sport. As students in this field and with the nature of most CS people being introverts, I think that these social interactions and commitments are incredibly important. Same thing with the "friends and family time." It contributes to being a balanced, emotionally healthy individual. Lastly, breaking up your study time over multiple days absolutely makes sense. Pulling all-nighters and cramming isn't a great idea. It's definitely something that I struggle with.
