Week 6
Part 1: Help Your Teammates to Develop Capstone Ideas
This past week, our team focused on machinery development of their capstone project themed, "Bridging the Digital Divide: Reusable Rockets and Satellite Connectivity." The discussion highlighted how reusable rocket technology is bringing down costs for launching satellites into space, which can eventually help enable high-speed internet in underserved parts of the world. We detailed economic impact, company profiles of SpaceX, OneWeb among others, and chances for bridging the digital divide in either rural or developing places. Naturally, we also posed the expected challenges those of space debris, regulatory hurdles, and infrastructural limitations related to the project under study. After that was cleared up and our approach refined, we were given the green light for this project from our instructor.
Part 2: Weekly Learning Reflections
From the career guide, I have learned about the strong portfolio, networking, and trends in the job market for front-end development. Similarly, the team was also quite occupied in moving further with the final presentation and video by finalizing the outline, dividing the sections, and deciding to keep voice-overs at this stage to make them sound engaging. Both the presentation and video are being worked on with the main target in mind: making them informative and visually attractive.
